Trio In Contention for Young Athlete of the Year Prize

England footballer Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been shortlisted for the upcoming Young Sports Personality of the Year award.
These three athletes have been celebrated for their remarkable achievements over the last year.
Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler won the world title for the maiden time, and Perrin rose to fame with a unprecedented innings.
Littler won the award in 2024 after his remarkable rise.
The finalists were unveiled on a national radio breakfast show.
The champion will be unveiled on the annual sports awards show on the 18th of December.
The show will be aired from 19:00 GMT.
Michelle Agyemang
Age: 19 Sport: Football
A mere three months after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to winning the Euros.
She came off the bench to score crucial late equalisers in both the knockout stage games.
Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament.
Later in the year, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the top young European talent.
She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the planet's top young female footballer.
Agyemang, who has been on loan at Brighton from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October.
"To be named a finalist for this award is a privilege," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my inner circle and supporters."
Littler's Profile
Age: 18 Sport: Darts
Littler's 2025 began in spectacular fashion as - aged 17 - he became the youngest darts world champion in history.
He secured a comprehensive triumph over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth competitor to complete the prestigious triple crown of major titles.
His success continued - his victory at November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the very first time.
At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, shattering the previous record.
"Being nominated for the honour once more is a big honour," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a highlight for me and I've had another amazing 12 months. I want to continue promoting darts."
Davina Perrin
Age: 19 Sport: Cricket
Perrin is one of English cricket's top prospects and rose to fame with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August.
Her magnificent 42-ball century in The Hundred is the speediest century from an England batswoman in T20s.
It also stands as the joint third-fastest women's T20 century in a major league or full member T20 international.
Perrin ended up as runner-up in the run-scoring charts and was named PCA Women's Young Player of the Year.
"I'm truly honoured to be nominated for the young athlete award," expressed Perrin. "It's a very special feeling. I hope it inspires more young females to get into cricket."
