The Streaming Giant Chooses Perfect Star for Bentham in the Hit Series Upcoming Installment
Baroque Works is set to play a huge role in Netflix’s upcoming season of One Piece, even if the true confrontation isn’t set to occur until the third season, and a adored, fan-favorite member has now been chosen.
Netflix announced recently that Cole Escola is now part of the One Piece cast for the third season and will portray Bentham. The role has the ability to transform into an identical duplicate of anyone they’ve made contact with with their dominant hand. The actor, who is identifies as non-binary and prefers they/them pronouns, will play a version of that character reimagined as gender non-binary, rather than as a drag artist, in the live-action show, differing from the original manga and cartoon version.
Escola will work alongside several other recently announced actors who will portray Baroque Works to life, featuring leader Sir Crocodile, brought to life by the well-known actor, an emerging star as a key member, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who also joins the cast as the ruler of the fictional land.
Even though Bon Clay is a key figure of the organization, the persona won’t appear until One Piece season 3. With the next season set to cover the Little Garden arc, this represents a significant shift in the placement of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could signal more adjustments to the story’s structure.
The actor’s combination of sharp comedic timing and profound feeling makes them a ideal selection for the part. Besides their latest vocal work in the animated coming-of-age film Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and multiple awards for creating and performing in the popular theatrical show Oh Mary!, highlighting the adaptability they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s most celebrated characters.
The platform’s adapted One Piece program is set to return for its next installment on the tenth of March, 2026.
