Our Task Consists of Only Killing' - The Way Sudan's Vicious Paramilitary Group Conducted a Massacre

Caution: This Account Includes Disturbing Descriptions of Executions.

Fighters laugh as they ride on the bed of a pick-up truck, speeding past a row of several dead bodies and moving towards the descending Sudan's evening sky.

"Observe such effort. Look at this genocide," one exclaims.

The fighter grins as he points the recording device on his own face and his companion combatants, their Rapid Support Forces badges on display: "These people shall all be killed this way."

The combatants are exulting in a massacre that humanitarian officials believe claimed the lives of over thousands of individuals in the Sudanese urban center of the Darfur city during October.

A Community Severed from the World

Following their control of the community under blockade for nearly two years, from August the militia moved to reinforce its position and restrict the surviving residents.

Satellite images show that troops started to erect a immense earth barrier - a built-up dirt embankment - around the edges of al-Fashir, blocking access routes and blocking aid.

While the blockade worsened, 78 people were murdered in an paramilitary strike on a mosque on 19 September, while the UN reported 53 further were killed in aerial and cannon attacks on a displacement camp in the autumn.

Graphic Recording Depicts Unarmed Civilians Executed

At dawn on October 26th the militia conquered the last military positions and took control of the main base in the community, the main facility of the Military Unit, as the military retreated.

Perhaps the most horrific footage to emerge and studied showed the consequences of a atrocity at a campus structure on the western side of the city, where dozens dead bodies were visible scattered throughout the ground.

A senior individual dressed in a traditional garment sat by himself amongst the victims. He turned to look as a combatant carrying with a firearm moved descending the stairs in the direction of the victim. pointing his rifle, the gunman discharged a one shot at the man, who collapsed to the floor motionless.

"For what reason is this individual still alive," a fighter exclaimed. "Execute him."

Satellite images recorded on late October seemed to confirm that killings were furthermore performed on the streets of al-Fashir, according to a study published by the academic research center.

A key witness who spoke said they had seen "many of our family members getting massacred - the victims were collected in a single location and all killed."

Militia Leaders Try to Implement Public Relations

In the days that came after the killings, RSF leader conceded that his troops had perpetrated "wrongdoings" and said the occurrences would be investigated.

Included among apprehended was following a report detailing his executions. Carefully staged and produced footage published on the RSF's formal social media account show the commander being escorted into a prison room at a prison on the outskirts of al-Fashir.

Simultaneously, the RSF and connected digital accounts began seeking to alter the account.

Updates depicting its militiamen handing out assistance to civilians were disseminated by various users, while the force's public relations unit shared multiple videos purporting to show the compassionate management of military detainees.

Despite the online campaign being used by the militia, their actions in the city have generated worldwide condemnation.
