Liverpool's Star Offers Apology to Squad, Reveals Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones has revealed that the Egyptian forward said sorry to the team following the controversy from his public comments.
What Happened
The striker was dropped from a European match subsequent to criticising the club and claiming his connection to the head coach had broken down.
“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, I'm sorry.’”
Arne Slot has refused to disclose on whether he received a personal apology from the 33-year-old forward.
Moving Forward
Jones insisted that the squad's reaction was unchanged. “Nothing about him changed, he had a big smile on his face and it was business as usual,” he continued.
He also suggested that a teammate fighting for a place is a positive trait. “It's clear there are certain ways you can go about things,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just sit out, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”

The team's performance have been impressive in the matches since the interview fallout. The player is convinced the forward's comments were not intended to cause disruption.
“If passion has boiled over, it’s always been from a good place,” the midfielder stated. “It's behind us and we’re building chemistry, playing well and securing victories.”
